What if he was running cuz he had drugs on him, or was wanted for something, there are many reasons to run that don't deserve being shoot.

Maybe he was running because he had a green salad with caesar' dressing in his rucksack and he wanted to toss the salad?

I like the fact that Musharaf 'tried' to make it clear that all three suicide bombers were not Pakistanis by birth nor were they raised in Pak. But the message has already been spread to the world by western media, Pak will need massive PR improvement to come out of this pathetic situation.
Its sad that this young man had to die because of someone else's deeds. Those enjoying the situation could just as easily have been in his place with five bullets in their bodies.
DS, you still have same old problem of not getting a clue of what is being said around you. Sad.

If he really was a suspect about to detonate a bomb, the police did their job. But in those news stories I dont really see any clarification as to whether he had explosives on him or not. Some say 5 shots, some say 10. Who knows if we'll ever know the real story. London guppies, improve your reporting skills. :p

They probably didn’t want to take the risk, as if he was armed, he could detonate himself with people around. In such situations police have to go by instinct and the officer obviously thought unloading 5 rounds into him was the safer option 
Its all very sketchy.

It’s been confirmed on Sky news that he didn’t have any explosives on him, and the emphasis is now being switched onto him being suspected of being one of yesterday’s bombers instead.

Well I thought being overpowered meant he wouldn’t be capable of detonating anything but I guess a panicky cop wouldn’t want to take any chances.

So why did they shoot him? "Police were told to shoot to kill if a person is suspected of detonating a bomb."

Both the ITN news and BBC say he was a suspected suicide bomber maybe from yesterday, people who were on the tube say he was shot 5 times and according to new police rules, anyone who is suspected of being a terrorist or whatever must be "shot and killed".

why did he panic and run? it is obvious police will shoot any running asians wearing too much clothing on a summers day. if he'd stood still and given a relaxed body language he'd be still alive!

**its not just the govt of pak that need to do PR, all of us living abroad in various nations need to do our part of the PR in the western countries. we need to come out clear our nation's name, and not just worry about how many hands the haathi ram has

also heard the bit about some mosque surrounded by army around the time this happened? what was that all about?

The mosque was cordoned off due to a bomb scare someone made a phone threat or something, they've been givin the all clear.

In the case of a suspected suicide bomber the police cannot wait to be 100% certain, they have to take action, if they dont then they get blamed, if they do then they still get blamed (sometimes)
The guy was running away from the police and some reports say he jumped over the barriers too.
anyway as we speak police are searching some other residence near paddington!

British police shot and killed a suspected bomber at a subway station in south London Friday morning, but as it turns out, the young man – described as wearing a bulky jacket – did not have explosives on him, reports said.
Police said the man was being investigated in connection with Thursday’s bomb attempts and he did not obey police instructions to stop.
“I need to make clear that any death is deeply regrettable,” Blair said, adding that “the man was challenged and refused to obey.”
Wonder why he ran?

Sky News have also said the guy shot was not one of the suspected bombers from yesterday.
Even though they wouldn't shoot unless they were absolutely sure of danger, the Police have a lot of answering to do.
