SWAT: A suicide bomber Monday killed SHO among two policemen and injured seven others in Pakistan’s violence-plagued northern Swat valley, police said.
The suicide bomber blew himself up inside barracks in Mingora Police Line, the main city in the region where Pakistani troops have been battling Islamic militants for the past several months.
The mountainous, snow-capped Swat region is renowned for its ancient Buddhist relics and once attracted large numbers of foreign and local tourists, but has been beset by recent violence blamed on pro-Taliban militants.
The injured policemen were reportedly in critical condition, the hospital sources said. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.
Where are all these suicide bombers coming from. I am reading that they are young kids , mainly between 15 & 22. Do their parents even know that they are committing these crimes and that they are dead.
Re: Suicide bomber kills 2 and critically injured 7 in Swat
Do we really have to ask where young kids are coming from to do this? Madrassahs are the breeding ground of jihadi culture. Whole world except "innocent" and "naive" Pakistanis know this. We have become so blind. It's really sad that we can't see the truth right in front of our faces. We need to fund education and bring jobs to people along with using force when needed.

Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Rajioun.
Sadly I came across someone who might have been posing as devil's advocate but of these bombings he said that most of the time targets are govt machinery (police, army) who have failed on all accounts in providing law and order in the country and are responsible for bombing of own citizens, killing of Lal Masjid people when they had reached an agreement etc.

Yes, there are many people in Pakistan who feel sympathy towards the bombers as you mentioned. There are many places where conditions of the government is worse than Pakistan, but they don't resort to suicide bombings. In fact, condition of police and govnt did get worse after 2001, it has been like this for a long time. It is just an excuse by jihadis who are angry at Musharraf's withdrawal of stat support for them. That is why unless the people themselves start hating the terrorists, this war on terror or whatever you call it is lost.
Re: Suicide bomber kills 2 and critically injured 7 in Swat
For people to start 'hating the terrorists', a case has to be made that they should distinguish between religion, patriotism, religious zealotry and abuse of power. These four things are been so mixed up that preachers are able to get away sermonizing hate and posing it as religious decree and patriotism. And jihadi nuts are able to acquire and abuse power using religion but calling it patriotism (in a manner of speaking).
How many masjids and maulvis are prepared to openly and specifically excommunicate leaders of jihadi outfits?
How many political leaders are prepared to by name, point fingers at religious 'leaders' when they give hate speeches?
Untils these two things happen, people will continue getting misled. It is between a rock and a hard place.
