Would you get a gift for any other family who came to your home for the first time with their child? Honestly, I wouldn’t.
I give gifts to children of family friends because I know them. When I go to someone’s home, I usually bring flowers or a cake or a box of chocolates or maybe candles or a decoration piece for their home - but that’s in appreciation of the host entertaining me.
The whole layna/dayna because of a potential rishta doesn’t appeal to me.
