==Suggestions for Taming really thick Hair

I need plenty of those,my older one has really thick hair and I need some names of accessories like a brand of hair bands clips etc that wont break or get loose after a single use. We are growing her hair to be longer right now as now she really wants it to be longer(and promises to take care of it).Any suggestions:)I want her hair to be away from her face.

Re: ==Suggestions for Taming really thick Hair

If its long enough to be tied in a pony tail, tie it at the base of the neck. Anything above is not good for the roots and causes breakage.
If its longer, braid it. Single or even two - one on each side. Go all the way down with the braid till the very end and then tie with good 'scuncis'. If the bands have a metal plate - don't buy them. Those aren't good.
If her hair's not long enough for either, a sturdy, think hair band pulled gently across the forehead and set in should do the trick.
Brands like scunci and conair are good for everyday hair accessories.

Re: ==Suggestions for Taming really thick Hair

Same problem here with my older one, she's (OR I) have been growing her hair for a year and a half now, its below her waist but its so thick that I dont know what to do with it.

She hates braids so usually wears it in a ponytail but cause its so thick the ponytail looks like another person attached to her.

Next year right before she goes to high school i'll be taking her for her first grown up cut, all in layers.

Re: ==Suggestions for Taming really thick Hair

^ You talk about her like she's 4..!? She'll be in high school soon and this is her 'first' grown up hair cut? And you still do her hair??

Re: ==Suggestions for Taming really thick Hair

lol yeah, I still do her hair for school.

She’ll be turning 12 soon MA so she’s not 4 :cb:

Re: ==Suggestions for Taming really thick Hair

start using conditioner. it really helps with the tangles.

also, get the hair ties that have that weird dhagga wrapping around them. opt for ones that are a little bit thick in the width of the band, not necessarily the diameter. diameter should be so that you can wear it around your wrist comfortably, so it's not too tight or too lose. just right. the way i judge hair ties is that if i can wrap them around 2 times or 3 times. usually 3 times is for if i braid my hair on either side of the head. 2 times is usually very comfortable for me, and it's not TOO tight.

also buy some nice pretty clips to take care of the fly-aways. the snap ones (i have no idea if they have a technical name) are really good. umm the kind that guys use to hold their skull caps on their heads.

other than that i keep my hair tied or braided. french braids look sooooooo cute! if your daughter learns that then she can glam up when she feels like it.

Re: ==Suggestions for Taming really thick Hair

Thanks for the good tips Khumi:)
The wide ones...could you give me a brand by which they are sold, I have already tried the usual scuncci etc, only last for a few times.

I do braid her hair in french braids ,two of them at times, I love it on her...U r right , they look soooo cute.
