STA my friend, groom's brother in my opinion should not wear a sherwani. ONLY the groom should.

on my cousn wedding the groom wore cream shervani n all other cusns n groom bothers wore blue sherwani wth lil bronze work on collars only n rest of the uncles n groom father wore black sherwani:)

In my family EVERY male member wears sherwani on barat if we are the girls side and on valima if one of the guys form the family is getting married.

at my brother's wedding, my husband also wore a sherwani. both were black but my brother's had kaam on the neck, buttons and sleeves and of course he had the kulla. husband had less embroidery- only on his collar and his buttons were plain. they both looked great!

ok you all are agreed on black sherwani. it is selected with very simple embroidery on neck, buttons and cuffs. groom’s father is no longer in this world and he has only one male sibling available at the moment. i think that male sibling will be considered as Elder of the family. 
(not really an elder person). Groom’s brother will wear it on barat.
