Whatever I wrote in my previous post (#11) about this stitching shop was just my perception of it, based on mere appearence. I am stunned how starkly contrasting the reality is now that we had the actual experience at that place.
Without going into long details I would just convey the fact they are way too expensive compared to the usual darzi shops but unfortunately their work is just below average and can be had from any run-of-the-mill tailor shop that are scattered across Lahore.
Paying higher than usual does not hurt if you get what you pay for. But if you don't, it does leave a bad taste in the mouth.
plz can u share your experiance?what happened?actually am planning to stitich loads of suits from there but now after reading your reviews am double minded?
there is a good darzi in international market, johar town ...
i got all the wedding clothes stitched from him ... i think he is quite good and doesnt charge so much either ... and he'll stitch whatever you ask him to ..
he is in one of the lanes in the market ... i dont know which .. but his shop is called "Fancy Tailors"
if anyone wants to spend over 2000rs a suit, they can contact with the tailor who stitches samples for Threads and Motifs. The salesmen at their counter can provide with the tailor's contact info. as far as neatness and his work is concerned, that is obvious from the samples we see at TNM

farrah what are his rates? and isn't international market in model town ext. or you are talking about some other market, can you give lil whereabouts?
he charged i think 500 for a simple suit ... and then his rates go up with added piping, or lining, or dying, or like an anarkali ... i had a complicated anarkali done ... top is kapray, bottom is kapray ka, is ka rang ye, ye lace yahan ... bla bla bla ... and he charged, if i am not wrong, 1500 rupees for that.
but we didnt bargain with him at all since everything was done in a very tight schedule, and he delivered ...
if i am taking the wrong name of the market, then i dont know ... but when you are going towards shaukat khanum hospital from Allah-hu chowk in johar town ... then the market comes on your left hand side ... it's one big white square of a building ... nothing fancy ...
^ nope … sorry prototype … but there aren’t many gallian … i think 4 or 5 … and it’s in on of them … “fancy tailors” … there is an open kapray ki dukan at the start of that galli … and there is a rang-wala sitting outside that galli in the open area too ..
ahhh … i’ll ask my mom to get his name and number the next time she goes to him, which is soon …
here’s a map ..
it’s not exactly the first lane … but just an indication … maybe it’s the second lane from the left … and ther is a banquet hall on the left of the building beyond the dotted line if i’m not mistaken
you can ask that dyr sitting outside about “fancy tailors” .. i’m sure he’ll know … he’s a good dyer too …

Firstly, the stitched dress that we got in the end was just not the design that we had ordered. This is the problem that one usually faces at common darzis as well. The same happened here. Although at the time of booking, one of the ladies there sat down and drew sketches in a book and it seemed that they were clearly understanding the design desired by us. Additionally, we left with them a magazine which had the pictures of the design that we were looking forward to.(They had misplaced that magazine even and kept giving us future dates when we could possibly have it back).
Then, even that botched up dress was not easy to get back from them. It took over a month to finally have it delivered. Be clear about this: there is no sense of keeping the schedules there. They keep giving you new tentative dates when you can get your clothes back. And there is no responsible person that you can talk to there. The main baji is almost always absent. Even if you try to call her, she just does not pick up the phone. In her absence, you are at the mercy of a junior baji in whose absence there is a usual Master Sahib to handle things. And even if he is not there, there is a guy who has been told by them that he is the manager. He is there but whatever you ask him, he manages to tell you that he does not know, only baji can tell this whenever she comes back. Which she never does :)
When you go there and take a look around the place, you would easily notice haphazardly dumped bags containing pending, yet-to-be-finished work lying all over. That would give you a fair idea about what level of accuracy and timeliness it would be safe for you to expect. Right level of expectations at the start save us from wrong level of frustration later.
While we won't consider going to this place again, I won't stop others from trying their own luck. But I would say please don't give them more than one article at a time. Don't leave with them in one go the whole loads of suits that you are planning to have stitched. Just see the results of one order first and then proceed accordingly.
As for charges, they are not ferociously high...just expect to pay twice the figure that a usual darzi charges for a job. Like if he is charging 400 for a suit, these ladies would charge around 900 for that. This is just a approximate benchmark to give you a rough idea.
