Re: suggest a mascara please
Mascara is my favorite make up item and I adore trying new ones and mixing them up for a really dramatic look. So far, these have made it in my make up bag:
Loreal Voluminous - Ive been using this since age 16 and cannot grow out of it. Just when I feel like Ive found a product that could beat it, it surprises me. Very affordable and works so well Im amazed I still use it. :)
Lancome Definicils - Ive used this a lot as well...this is more lengthening then thickening though.
Diorshow Iconic - I just tried this recently and bought it. I really like it and sometimes use this in conjunction with the Voluminous and its absolutely amazing.
Diorshow - The black tube...cant remember the name of it...very nice one as well...smells great too.
Re: suggest a mascara please
DiorShow Blackout.... and always use a lash curler for extra oomph :)
Always use a primer before you apply mascara- they not only condition the lashes while applying but lengthen which is such a bonus. I use Este Lauder primer for lashes and then just a cheep and cheerful mascara over it which is 'maybelline-define a lash' which works wonders. Thanks to mum I already have long lashes lekin these two products really give that glam effect without it looking too 'false'.
Re: suggest a mascara please
L'Oreal has the best ones.
Re: suggest a mascara please
^what you know about mascaras? :aq:
I saw the ad next to the makeup isle the other day, and the girl in the ad looked really good with L’oreal mascara on… Hence I know. ![]()

Re: suggest a mascara please
But some ads have used lash extensions or false lashes as well as editing so u can't even trust them 100%, L'Oreal got into quite a bit of trouble over this for misleading consumers, one of their ads (Telescopic mascara) was actually banned in the UK after it was found out that Penelope Cruz was wearing false lashes lol, I think Rimmel have been in trouble for something similar as well. Like those shampoo ads where the models have got thicker more beautiful hair not due to the product itself but thanks to hair extensions..
Re: suggest a mascara please
^but that's the case in almost every ad. models are surrounded by lights, faces are airbrushed, and of all the actresses who do hair commercials, how many do you see with shiny and healthy hair like that? it's definitely misleading.
Re: suggest a mascara please
i just bought two mascaras. loreal's voluminous and mayblines lash discovery. i wish that the volumous was as black and the as discovery.
so far, i am really happy with my purchase
Re: suggest a mascara please
telescopic mascara is not banned in the uk.....i still use it...n its great....makes lashes popa long.....
^ Not the mascara itself, the Penelope Cruz ad :)
Not all ads are that misleading cos the ASA wouldn't have just picked on the L'Oreal Telescopic (and the one or two others). Editing is ok to a reasonable extent but when they make ridiculous claims they can't back up that's when the companies get pulled up for it.
Re: suggest a mascara please
MaxFactor’s one is pretty good.
The big fat bottle that looks like an inflated diamond.
