I had sugaring done a few years ago. It did not suit my skin. I ended up with brown marks all over which disappeared later. It is very popular in the Arab countries though.
I used to go to a salon when I was in Pakistan... where they used some soft-atta-like thing to wax and it definitely hurt less than the regular cold wax... was that this sugaring thing?
It was caramel colored and was kind of sticky... They would roll it like a ball and then put on my skin and then sorta spread it, pressing down...... I totally loved (as it hurt less) it and asked what it was but they refused to share the recipe or tell me what it was :(. They used some oil on their hands so it wouldn't stick to their hands.... and on my skin they would apply powder before starting off. Just want to know if thats what this sugaring is?
Also, if I prepare it... how long can I keep it? Is it supposed to be kept in the fridge or what?
Oh yes, if it was sugaring… for me, it definitely hurt less than waxing… or maybe I just went numb from the pain . I have sensitive skin, especially my back… it breaks out after waxing… but with sugaring it didn’t.
yup, i have sensitive skin aswell and so far ive used it just on legs and its awesome. I tried underarms.. but i just didnt manage to do it lol .. really difficult to hold that area tight when doing it yourself..
It should be a very light amber color.. if you drop a small amount into cold water it should form a soft ball.
I pour it in a heat-proof bowl and let it sit for a while and then stretch it till it's easy to work with. It's less messy than the regular wax that you have to heat-up and this doesn't need any strips of cloth either. You spread the halawa and pull against the grain of hair.

Make sure your skin is clean and dry..
Link that ria1328 posted says that you should put it on against the grain and take it off in the direction of the hair. I noticed because waxing is the other way.
