Brown sugar is more suitable for the face since it is soft and not as abrasive as white sugar. for the body I think either one is fine. Mixing olive oil in brown sugar is a great scrub.
I use the aromatherapy ones as well as the regualar ones by Bath and Body and I love the aromatherapy ones, they have bigger sugar crystals. I only use it on my feet though so not sure how suitable they are for facial skin or others parts of the body.
i make mine by using plain white sugar and adding lemon juice to it. it leaves the hands really really soft.
hmm what do u exactly do? u mix sugar in lemon juice.... so hmm does sugar dissolve in the lemon or not? n for how long shd i scrub using this sugar n lemon scrub?
n can this scrub be used on face too?

don't use the sugar you get in pakistan for this :D those are huge crystals. the sugar we get in NA is finer. still not fine enough but it works.
yeah all i do is add a few drops of lemon juice to the sugar. enough so it makes almost like a paste. the sugar doesn't dissolve. don't let it sit though. just make enough of it to use it when you need it. as for scrubbing, just as long as you normally use a scrub for. don't scrub hard or for too long though. and i wouldn't recommend it for the face unless either you grind it or use brown sugar like someone said.
I make my own sugar scrub for the face and body and use it once a week. add honey, fine sugar or brown sugar and a little bit of extra virgin olive oil... i never really measure it so i can't tell you the measurements...I love how it leaves my skin so soft!! but just make sure you are very gentle on your face... DO NOT scrub your face...

hmmm ok i'll scrub my face smoothly....... what good is scrub for anyways?
It's an exfoliator that will help remove any dead skin cells on the surface of your skin... you should have smoother skin afterwards...I do't know you might be able to find a product in the market that works better for you... but i find that using a home made sugar scrub doesn't irritate my skin like other products
Also, after exfoliating i usually like to use a mask to remove any dirt build up from my face and follow it with a good moisturizer...
