Sugar high... do i have gestational diabetes??

mall,

I met this mother in the hospital who had GD and she told me that she had a completely natural delivery, and her baby was a normal 7 pound baby... I was like how is this possible... didn't your doctor wanna do a c-section on you....she said no... I was induced 2-3 days after my due date and research shows that inducing on or very soon after the due date means that your chances of natural birth are increased even though u have gestational diabetes...

Best thing for you to do right now is walk, walk and walk.. put something in your ear... and while listening to it keep walking.... ur walking will help you digest ur food better which will in turn not show very high sugar numbers.... hope that helps..... are u delivering in pak or dubai....

wow yaar such awsum piece of advice. many hugs!!!!!!! :) i will def keep this in mind and let my doc know abt it IF the need arises. I will b deliverin in dubai ofcourse. thanks alot!

Re: Sugar high... do i have gestational diabetes??

make sure u talk to your doctor and tell her that you would like to push for a natural delivery first and foremost.... I just met women who were facing contractions for 3-4 days but the doctors didn't cut them open.... if you search on the internet you will find a lot of stories of women who when they started contractions they stayed at home...and didn't go to the hospital till later... prob with first time moms is that the moment contractions start we run to the hospital and of course you can't be kept in a separate room for 48 hours ...it takes up resources so doctors end up performing c-sections.

Almost all my friends who have had babies before naturally told me that in terms of their second baby ...they were home eating, walking, doing their normal routine stuff during the contractions.... read up on it...if you can and I have read ....the more you walk during the early contractions the better it is coz the baby comes down due to gravity so instead of lying down....keep walking, eat, drink... and read up these things on proper medical sites...
