sugar doesn't make us fat fat does
we need sugar for energy
Thanks Irem.....This is a good point...I am looking for some more points.
there is no direct correlation between weight gain and consumption of sugar. weight gain is caused by an intake of calories that exceeds the expenditure of energy. eating fatty foods and irregular excercise makes you fat not a healthy intake or consumption of sugar.
if sugar is consumed from the lips of your beloved, it shouldn't make u fat.
PS. Above comment inspired from a conversation with Majestic.
sugar does make u fat if u eat excessively.
if u stay within the limits, then sugar won't make u fat....but in that case nothing will make u fat
so: excessive sugar makes u fat, cuz all those glucose rings are tranformed into fatty acid chains-----> hence sugar makes u fat
i think i was told that calories consumed by a person make him gain/ lose weight
fact is that sugars n all sweet things are cheap source of energy ........when u dont burn this energy it changes in fat n this is the only reason that ppl blame sugar for weight gain n practically it means that if u r having high fat n high sugar u will gain weight but if u r taking low fat n high sugar then u will not .........so it can be said that sugar is not responsible for more fat
sorry if its not right but i think this is what i was told in my food n nutrition lectures ........may be i don't remember it right

err i think u are wrong. high calories are still high calories. Now protien is a diff story cuz its harder for teh body to break it dowen and digest it but calories that the body can convert to fat easily translate into more fat. sugars get converted very easily. so even if you are on a low fat and high sugar binge u will gain weight.

proves i need to open my books again
sorry ....i didn't remember it right

Another intresting thing i came across the other day is some people believe if they take brown sugar or some other crude form of sugar.. it wont make them fat... wrong.. sugar is sugar .. no matter what form u r taking it will remain the same n would still make u FAT! :-)
p.s: Just my two pence
Not much to say about that. Too much sugar (as sugar in your diet) makes you fat. I presume you are referring to sucrose.
Trouble with white sugar - or brown sugar for that matter - is that it is over 99% sucrose.
The definition of junk food is one which provides calories but a negligible quantity of other nutrients.
So sugar, as sugar that you eat, is a junk food.
Our bodies need sugar to function, but teh trouble about consuming large quantities in the diet is that there is too much all at once, s it can't use it and converts it into fat for storage. When the body needs energy, it can break down complex carbohydrates, making the calories avavilable gradually, according to teh bodies needs and in the places where it is required.
You can eat sugar faster than a company produces, but it depends how faster you move. I have seen a bird in a documentary, depending on nectar and honey...haven't seen anything moves or flies like the whole day. Pretty slim too!
Btw, I am getting thinner while taking sufficient highly sugar-related foods because my job requires me to walk some 60 kilometers a days. :)
