Ibn Ata’ Allah al-Iskandari.

my fab sufi is Rabi’ah al-'Adawiya and her saying, “O God, if I am worshipping you out of fear of Your hellfire, cast me into it. And if I am worshipping you out of desire for Your paradise, prohibit me from entering it. And if I am worshipping You for the sake of Your noble face, do not prohibit me from seeing You”

Sufism or tasawwuf, as it is called in Arabic, is generally understood by scholars and Sufis to be the inner, mystical, or psycho-spiritual dimension of Islam. Today, however, many Muslims (such as wahhabis) and non-Muslims believe that Sufism is outside the sphere of Islam.

SUFI"…a follower of the mystical path, those who seek experience of the tawhid…the term applies only to the most advanced practitioners

sufi history begun with Porphet Muhammed (pbuh).

there r some website abt sufism]

a brief summary http://www.webcom.com/~gnosis/sufi.mystica.html

an excellent site of sufism, have lots of link http://www.arches.uga.edu/~godlas/Sufism.html

My questions were regarding daleel from Quran and Sunnah to support sufiism.

You have mentioned that it is found in the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammad (sallallaho alaihe wasallam). But the site you refered to says:
SOURCE...the holy Qur'an and the Hadiths or "sayings" of Muhammud as the first "sufi"...term not developed until c.850 CE

The two sites refered to are both by Westerners who are inclined towards sufiism, like any other religion that preaches meditation.

The remark about wahabi is out of context and from malice. If sufiism cannot be proved from shariah sources, it is not acceptable. Some of the things in sufiism are definitely against Islamic teachings. For example the faqiri concept and the concept of leaving worldly life. These are alien to Islam.

Oh wow Rabia Al-Adawiya was amazing. She had a wonderful voice. I know her whole life inside and out. All her poems, she is one amazing lady.

She used to always pray after the night salat and she would say:

"Eyes are heavy with sleep, unaware of their forgetfulness. And still Rabia the sinner abides in your presence in the hope that You might look on her with a gaze that will keep sleep from diminishing her service of You. By your power and majesty, may I not slacken serving You either night or day until I meet You."
--Rabia

Hey Factfinder, I kinda agree with you Sufism has its twisted ways of Islam. Just like every other sect in Islam, Sufism has its ways also. I have studied Sufism and I still do find it kinda weird in a sense, I mean they are Muslims and all but it just has this one thing that troubles me. I am fascinated by lots of Sufis scholars and all, but Sufism itself is twisted in a way. I guess every sect in Islam is kinda strange to me, I'm a Sunni and I find something's that Wahabbies do are weird and some goes to the Shia sect and Sufism.

This one is my ol' time fav. of the very very respected (in my eyes) Baba Bulleh Shah.

*"Learn no more knowledge, O friend!
This knowledge will be of no avail to you
You need to read only Alif
You read and read and pile your books into a heap
The Quran and other books are lying all around you
By reading and reading you become Mullah and Qazi
But God is pleased without their knowledge
Your avarice is whetted every day
you always aim at personal gain." -- Bulleh Shah *
