PCG Islam says no to magic - regardless of black, white, pink, purple, etc.
(i have not read anywhere in Quran where it says: No black magic, all it says is that No Magic)
Interesting you raised this issue. A few years ago, I recall a classmate of mine how white magic is used for good stuff. However, I've zero knowledge on it.
It'd be nice to see the different views in the light of Quran and Sunnah.
No such thing as 'white' magic. Magic is magic. Magic is extremely haram. Be that magic done to harm others, or magic done to counteract someone else's magic. All is haram and forbidden.
Surah Falak and Surah Naas are the recommended counter agents.
If there is no such thing as White Magic, then how does Black magic exist? If there are bad spells, surely, there must be good spells?
If only Black magic exists, then what really is at work behind the black magic? There must be some scientific basis for it, especially, if there is no opposite.
It cannot be just imagined, because I could easily imagine a good spell as oppose to a bad spell.
Where does Quran (or even hadith) classify Magic as white or Black. Little of what I know is that Quran and Hadeeth refer to Magic as with only one word "Sehr" ...
