Styling the Dupatta

Hi gals,

just need some help, I recently got some clothes from Pakistan and the dupattas are huge embroidered beautiful things, folding them over doesnt look good.. coz u cant see the embroidery.. whats the best way of styling it..???

Re: Styling the Dupatta

I have an image in my head but I am trying to find the words to describe it...

ok, you know when you wear a sari and you have to put all the folds in it before tucking it in to the middle part? fold the dupatta like that so you have a dupatta with lots of folds and about8 - 12 inches in width.

Then put it over your left or right shoulder with the longer part at the front. Then from the bottom of the folded dupatta pull out the last bit and bring it towards your other shoulder, so the scarf it flares out over the front of your body, if you get what i mean and use a broche to secure it in place.

I hope that made a bit of sense :)

Re: Styling the Dupatta

yeh kinda, thanx. iv seen alot of girls put it over the shoulder, bring it round from the back and pin it to the side of their kamiz.. but i dont wanna make holes in my dress!

Re: Styling the Dupatta

What about putting it over one shoulder so it hangs in front, wraps behind you and then comes under the other side and you hold it in your arm

Re: Styling the Dupatta

^ i love doing that but i only do it if the kameez isnt too tight

Re: Styling the Dupatta

I’ll try to get some pics of what I do with them. Since I dont think I can explain it all that well.

Heres one example.

good question cow

Re: Styling the Dupatta

hehe ^^ kutti.

That does look hawt - Thanx MQ but its not really manageable - if I was gng to a wedding, sitting, standing.. if it was a stand up event, that wud be easier.. might still copy it tho.

but I hate pinning stuff, hate the marks it leaves :(

Re: Styling the Dupatta
