these tips aren't specifically for certain events but in general tips :)
1 never wear black with brown...dark blue or another dark shade....
unless ur outfit is HOTTTTT lol...it makes u look dark and gloomy...
if u must...spice it up with a lill bit of jewlery to add some PAZAZZZ to it..

2 dont wear socks with sandals (argh) --its a desi tradition

3 I HATE when girls wear nice heels (that u shud wear to weddings/parties) under jeansss
unless ur going to a hype party and ur jeans are a straight leg...and fancy

4 dont wear tapered PANTS (ESP guys)...and esp if ur on the 'healthier side' cause it makes u look round...

5 dont accessorize tooo much...u know u see some girls with 3 necklaces...a bunch of braclets..clips in there hair of every single color...and rings.... like who r u...mr t??? -- stay classy and sleek

An article in U.S.A. Today spoke about candidates for jobs wearing jeans, purple sweat suits, and spike heels or sneakers. Other applicants weren't afraid to show pierced body parts and spiked hair. Still others chewed gum or showed up in rumpled clothes or with their pants falling down. One recruiter even told a candidate with his trousers down below his hips, to "Pull your pants up." According to the article, the outlandish dress costs some candidates the job. Does it really make a difference how you dress and act? In many cases, it does. One guy in the article says: "I'll never forget the gentleman I interviewed for an accounting position. He had been out of work for a few months and wanted to show me why. He took off his jacket, unbuttoned his shirt and started to pull down his pants (this is a true story) to show me the scar from a boat propeller that had injured him. He didn't get the job. Neither did the young lady in a bright red skirt so short and tight that she could hardly sit down!"
In the conservative business climate I worked in at the time, appearances did matter. In other environments it isn't as important. However, it does make sense to dress your best for the interview, regardless of the dress code at the organization. If you're in doubt about how to dress for an interview, it is best to err on the side of conservatism. It is much better to be overdressed than underdressed (or undressed).

Re: Style/Fashion DO's and Don'ts

I'm gonna shoot the next person who says to wear empire waists..if you hav any sort of a belly htey just make u look pregnant!

Re: Style/Fashion DO's and Don'ts

i agree with this...also dont wear brown pants with a green top...u'll look like a tree :/

ewwww ^^

i sorta disagree...strappy blingy heels look really pretty on slightly flared, skinny, bootleg or straigh leg jeans with a dressy top. obviously its a party look and not a work outfit.

i used to hate tapered jeans but i have a newfound love for skinny jeans. they can look pretty rocker-girl-chic if u can carry them off the right way.

*disagree. i think that depends on your individual style. if u dress bohemian u can wear many necklaces and a bunch of gold necklaces layered can look pretty awesome. again lotsa gold/silver necklaces/bracelets layered together is more of a rocker-chic look. *

sara: so true those empire tops make even the skinniest frames look preggos. if u want something to control the tummy try a top with ruching on the waist and tummy...or try a wearing fitted cami under a button down shirt.

Re: Style/Fashion DO’s and Don’ts

I’m thinking of stocking up on these…for future use :cb:

Re: Style/Fashion DO's and Don'ts

Girl get the wrap style one then.....it usually tucks in the stomach...it has to be perfect though...meaning it has to hit right were the natural waist is...and try the one that doesnt have rusching in starting at the rib cage....and it wont make anyone look pregnant:D..u have to find the perfect fit...the brand that may suit your individual body

Re: Style/Fashion DO's and Don'ts

wedding: dont act like ur the bride dont wear the same color, heavy lehgas or tikkas or mehndi.....its just wrong.
