Gizzy yaar, ur 3 things mentioned would only deter the lamest of users. There is a very broadly used utility called NetStumbler (i'm sure almost everyone's heard of it) :). I have a softwre on my pocketpc that lets me know what mac address to use, what IP to put and where the AP is located (ssid and GPS location and all).
And MAC addresses are the easiest thing to spoof. So what else?
Ok, so even WEP can be broken, but atleast u'd have a few weeks between WEP key changes. Am i going overboard on this? It started with just curiosity...
I know Tofi, securing the network is more difficult then cracking it :-/
but yeah, it will secure the network for lil kiddies from the neighbourood. I dont think some big shots will come by to crack my or your network.
Pretty good examples. That's what i said too. But with the Wifi stuff available in the major cities these apps are veryy common. i heard of one from a user at my company who is not even into networking.
