Being ranked 4 out of 8 (effectively, no Zimbo or Bang) is not a great achievement. Look at the ICC table, there is a few points seperating teams 2-6 after Australia. These are all average teams, we are in that group.

Now add that we only win in Asia, and you see what I’m saying. Our bowlers are good guys, but the batting-its worthless, bar the 3.

We only win in Asia, you need to look at our test history. We did not lose a series in England between 1982 and last year. we played 4 series there. Last time I looked at the atlas England was not in Asia. Even though we have not won the current series in SA we have not been humiliated either, I think the honours are even and if Shoaib and Gul were playing SA would not have won the last test match. No way.

Pakistan is 3rd in both and ODI rankings out of 9. http://www.icc-cricket.com/. So there are only two teams better than us. If we are crap God help those who are below us. Your arguments don’t hold up.

I am talking about the current reality. What happened between 1980-1997/8 is not relevant now. How does it reflect on our current squad mate?

If you wish to talk history, we have never won a series in Oz, Saf or WI?

Is that a record to be proud of mate?

What matters is the present, and this team not only keeps those traditions up, but no longer wins in England.

They must be excellent.

I think we may fall to 4th now, as we lost to a team ranked behind us...this just shows that there is not a lot of quality teams out there.

Does not say currently, so do not twist what you said. I know Pakistan's history very well don't need your help in that respect.

The fact remains we are 3rd in both forms of cricket and that is a fact. yes we are not playing to our potential, that is a fact as well. But just to criticise the whole team and rubbish them just shows lack of cricketing knowledge. Peace

You are suggesting that being ranked 3rd means we are somehow "quality"-it doesnt, it reflects only that we are in an era of drought for cricket. If Audley Harrison wins the world title, it doesnt mean he's good-only that the level of competitor is now poor. Ditto us being 3rd.

^ Well you tell me, these jokers have been around for the last few years and Pakistan is still maintaining 3rd postion. I don't use the term so it would be interesting to know who the jokers are. All I am saying is that England, India, NZ, WI must have even bigger jokers, so our jokers are OK, they are doing better then all the jokers bar jokers from two countries, i.e. Aus and SA.

and why this thread is still running, if this is an outlet of your frustration, then it should be under lifestyle > frustration (hubby & wify).
As for Pakistan yes they were beaten well and square so what, live with it or suck it up man! you dont want to watch cricket so be it and why dont you stop typing as well

I have already listed who the jokers are above. If the jokers continue like this and do not improve than they will even become bigger jokers and over-take jokers from other countries and the 3rd and 4th positions may no longer belong to Pakistan.

we should experiment with young blood like akmal for captain. beichara looks very nervous about his spot in the team, this will give him confidence.

Some people just can't digest the fact that you can lose a game, there will be less-than-expected performers in the team.
