UK Gatso cameras are set to 3 mph + 10% of legal speed limit.

So in a 30mph zone , they go off at 35mph.
In a 40mph zone, they go off at 47mph
In a 60mph zone they go off at 69mph.
On a motorway they go off at 80mph.

However, remember that most Gatso cameras don’t have a camera or a flash in them, they are there to scare you into slowing down.

Also, the speedometer on your car actually underreports your speed. My UK Honda Civic would show you doing 100mph when you were actually doing 89pmh (compared my speedometer to my satellite navigation speed), and would show 30mph when you were actually doing 27mph.

I tried it in several different cars and was able to confirm what car journalists reported a while back - manufacturers these days set up their cars to make you think that you’re going faster than you really are, in an attempt to discourage speeding.

thats it …now I have reason to go even faster. I get told off by my parents for going too fast

2 days ago we went Bradford…my bro drove on the way there…took him 2.5 hours. I drove back and it took me 2 hours it takes my dad 3 hours sometimes

80/85 mph was my average speed. I have been driving for 3 years now. I NEVER go at the speed limit…I am always at least 10mph above and havent yet got any ticket.
