Are we going to do the same for having more than one car, SUVs, how about more than one bottles of beer, etc.? As more people die in car and DUI related accidents than with guns. Are we going to license how much alcohol and how many cars people can buy? You have to understand the history and thought behind US weapons laws and 2nd amendment before you start throwing terms like "licensing" around, that would make it a privilege, bearing arms/self-defense is a RIGHT, not a privilege.
For some TT may be enough, for others, you need more than that to stop someone. Look up FBI stats on what it takes to stop a grown man, someone with large frame... you will not get *headshot *every time.
This is not a gun laws issue, its much more than that and stricter gun laws will never solve the problem.
Yeah, if they had the firearms that we do now, I am sure the 2nd amendment would be a lot different.
bear in mind that the NRA's standard response after these shooting tends to be to imply that if the victims were armed themselves, they could have fought back effectively.
The NRA's solution to gun violence isn't to remove guns.... it's to say that if everyone had guns then people who not feel that they had the ability to carry out these types of attacks because all the other armed people nearby would stop them.

In most mass shootings we have seen, the shooter kills himself before the police can get to him. This argument is retarded because even if everybody got a gun, not everyone would be carrying it with them all the time and the shooters we have seen are suicidal anyway. If that's what the NRA recommends, then they should have non-lethal weapons that people can buy and feel safe. Taser guns are illegal to posses but lethal guns are okay . -__-
The guns were purchased legally so gun control may not be the issue here. Unfortunately, it has come down to Terrorism. The names are obviously Islamic/Pakistani with woman came here on marriage. This is NOT A GOOD news at all for any of us. I think the muslim community of North America now really needs to come together and forward. We must do something to weed out these people who get radicalized and destroy not only their lives but lives around them. What can we do, not sure but at least we should be thinking what is our future here.
Gun control laws are still at fault… why sell “assault” rifles? why sell “automatic” rifles? Who would want to buy automatic weapons? Someone who intends to spread harm/injure/kill mercilessly.
What about rest of mass shooting that keeps happening in US? Who is going to be snitches for that?
Here is map of mass shootings in US for 2015 for your reference:
That is not true at all. There are a lot of people (an overwhelming majority in US) who have many assault rifles, we don’t see them going out and killing people. It is absurd to assume that anyone who buys assault rifle is going to harm/injure/kill mercilessly.
It is interesting how people all of a sudden become anti-gun activists without having proper understanding and knowledge of the subject… like the hollywood actors who can’t shoot a movie without doing few scenes which involve guns. It is not your fault nor are you responsible for what happened.
Its correct that not all automatic weapon holders are using it all the time, looking from utility perspective who would want it more? There is “hobby” to collect, to get bragging rights, but definitely not someone who wants to get a “defending weapon”. As of this “Washington Examiner” guy, I am not going to argue, stats can be hiding as much as you want and reveal as much as you want. Logic is an automatic weapon can shoot at much faster rate and will have higher number of bullets in one given round compared to a pistol/TT.
I'm sorry, but we need to maintain a vigilance over people in our community.
So far there are details coming out about the California shooters, and a few things stand out in my mind. Everyone keeps saying they were two normal people without any risk factors, and I simply don't buy that.
He flew to Saudi to marry a girl he met on the net. That's warning number one, and it's the biggest red flag that points to the source of radicalization being this girl. In fact, we don't know how long he was talking to her and she was brainwashing him online before he married her.
There is no marriage record that is obvious - authorities say they're not even sure if these two were married. Nutties who think doing a nikkah without registering the marriage - that's a red flag. If you don't think registering your marriage in the American system is worth it, and it's not "Islamic", as some people like to justify, then chances are you've already abandoned being an American in your mind.
There is not ONE picture of this girl that is up and available. She wore a niqab, and sources say he "liked that about her". She doesn't want her pictures out there - why? I keep arguing the niqab is flat out haraam, and people simply don't listen. The niqab needs to be banned. It helped this girl hide, and go undetected in the community she was living in. People in California can't even recognize her probably. The fact that pics aren't available is pretty suspicious. Most people who do niqab but are mentally healthy - they will still take pictures of themselves.
No news yet of her family. That's odd, you go to Saudi to marry a girl, and where is the family? Pakistani families sniff around each other's families considerably prior to marriage - so who is this girl and why did this boy's mother take this girl as her daughter in law??
He goes to the masjid to pray during his lunch time. I know a lot of you will get upset at this, but let's face it. How many people pray at work? Not that many. Of the ones that do pray, how many make it a point to leave and go to the masjid? Again, not many. You can always do a late prayer when you get home, or you can do a quick prayer in your own office.
He quit going to the local mosque abruptly in 2014, around the time he marries this girl. Another suggestion she had radicalized him. She probably convinced him to alienate himself from the local muslim community and that he shouldn't mingle with the local muslims. You isolate these people, it's easier to radicalize and control them.
I'm sorry, but the more and more this kind of thing happens, the more it makes me angry at these madrassas and crazy mullahs in our community who don't want to get with the times, the more angry I get at this incessant need to show religion on our sleeves rather our actions (ex. hijabs and beards).
That's all Islam has become for some people. A dress code, talking and walking like an arab, and learning how to just isolate yourself and throw yourself into depression with angry feelings towards anyone and everyone. The mentality becomes "I'm the only one who knows what I'm doing, everyone else is wrong, and I have the authority to hurt them".
This is bizarre and a bit different from the everyday rogue killer with a gun. I have no idea how the guy convinced his wife to join in and go shoot up his coworkers, that too with a 6 month old kid in the picture. They found stockpiles of ammo and pipe-bombs at the couple's home. Who has time or energy to make pipe bombs with a 6 month old at home? Seems to be a lot more in the story left to come out.
You are clearly handicapped as far as this subject is concerned and allowing emotions to dictate how to deal with the problem at hand. Let me help you with stats:
Notice how gun ownership (rifles in particular) dropped from 30% to 20% since 1973… there is something else going on here which we are ignoring. Maybe something to do with drugs (illegal and prescription), social and psychological issues, food/nutrition (GMOs, junk food, etc), media, etc.
You threw a lot in the mix in the last para, and the kitchen sink. Didn’t set the point.
Re gun laws being strict in CA , as I mentioned earlier, the neighboring states have lax laws. So we need a Federal law that makes it impossible for Aam aadmi to own assault weapons.

And this guy SRF posted on the net that he practiced target shooting in his back yard
kinda weird to even think about shooting guns in one's own backyard
His father was an alcoholic! used to beat his mother and verbally abused her, and she had gotten a restraining order against him and eventually divorced him!
