I’ve tried uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers. I’ve tried several usb ports, but if by chance it recognizes the camera (by asking which program to import pictures to), it crashes. “The program isn’t responding” error comes up.
If I try to import directly from a program (ie. photoshop), it gives an error of “no camera found.”
assuming its a problem only on that one comp - reinstall windows. or spend $15 or so and buy a CF card reader that plugs into the USB slot. you can download your pics faster and easier that way.
hmmm ... try this ... unistall the program, remove registry entries if you can [as might contain some settings] and then restart the PC. Once you've restarted, reinstall the program. Still if it gives a problem, install it on another PC and verify if it works. If it doesn't then if could be a faulty hardware.
if the problem is intermittent then it could be either a faulty port or faulty cable. Try using another cable and yes do test other devices to see if the port is ok.
Uninstall the TWAIN drivers and reinstall the latest V6.0.0 drivers from canon canada's website.. try and try again...
PA, I was able to connect to another computer using the same cable. And I was able to connect another usb device in the very same port in my own computer. Dumb computers.
Gizzy, no xp, please. My sis has xp on her’s, but I just don’t like it.
I hate to say it again PA, but I’ve uninstalled the drivers as well. Started from scratch. I deleted them from the winnt folder as well. Thanks for the links. I"ll take a look.
DM, sure can keep it. It’ll cost ya $500. It’s special now cuz I used it. :-p
