is some one advocating Saudi youth or Saudi rulers here?
just to let the ppl know to my opinion... well it is no secret that the muslim umah is going downhill in ever sense... in faith and in worldly affairs. Ibrahim i think this is all the part of His Ultimate Plan. After all this world has to perish, hasn't it? And the day of judgement has to come.
Im not saying that we should leave all hope and follow along everyone else, but i think we should concentrate into making ourselves much better muslims and better human beings rather than concentrating on the whole community. If everyone does what he / she is supposed to do. Then atleast they can be hopeful of an optimistic result at the Judgement.
Ibrahim, there are nuances and facets of Islam that have tremendous value to the world. That humbleness you describe is a quality fast becoming obsolete, yet in need of wider acceptance. Islam has stuck to it's guns in a world that seems less moral. It has technology to do much harm psychologicly, posing a threat not seen before. Islam does have a very important purpose which I understand in a more complete way. Judaism and Christianity were both more critical of society in the past. The Islamic World has not ceased, but might be in need of correction in other areas of ancient culture that remain in place. In fact, I feel better Islam exists rather than not. I am a fan of checks and balances that may be a divine concept. Just musing, here.

Dear Tomasso, You are looking at Islam and Islamic values with the eyes of western media that is why you see only the point where you feel Islam has stuck to it's guns in a world that seems less moral which is neither right not valid.
Once you try to see Islam and Muslim value without western media glasses, you will see the actual glory and facts.

This is true, actually in present times, among all the religions, Islam is the only one religion which could provide the complete way of life with the advancement in every area of life without going away from religion.

That is a typical superior mentality.

In the case of the Arabs they have been blessed as promised to their father (prophet Ibrahim [as])
Instead of they doing the work, fools like us study and work our butts to end up serving them thinking we are wise.
There is no doubt that the west is much wiser than the Arab world. If you think they are wiser, so your wish !!!

What I see is an crippled generation who needs the crutches even for their daily activities. They are incapable of doing even their daily chores and are dependent on the rest of humanity for ever.
And how do we prove this?

I am not interested to know what they know, but I have seen much more powerful miracles than what you can think so I would try to keep metaphysics away.
However it is the common knowledge of modern day medicine that is the best cure.

As long as the thinking is restricted that one is superior to the other, this type of thing will exists. That's what brought down the Brahminism in India (Preacher should sit and enjoy while the others should work).
Only time will tell what holds in future for the arab world. The day their oil wealth is exhausted, times will be tough.
Victory: "Once their oil wealth runs out ... times will be tough"
Even with and perhaps because of their oil wealth times are tough. Anyone who denies that "western technology" and science offers knowledge without which it is now literally impossible to sit amongst the comity of nations is in a serious state of denial. West is offering its science and technology pretty openly and cheaply. However, be aware that accepting it and implementing it affects the "soul" of the culture and civilization.
OldLahori and Victory:
Once some one asked one Israeli official that Muslims say that jewsh would be destroyed and so and so....
You know what his answer was:
He said those would not these (todays) Muslims and we would not be those (that times jewsh.
If oil wealth goes dried, I do not think you would be alive or young enough to enjoy the glory of what you and your forefathers have been waiting for years and years.
Qasim: I am sorry I must be real dumb. I honestly did not understand your answer. What have my forefathers been waiting for? And, what did the answer from the jewish guy mean?
