I want to make stuffing.
I have a bag of stuffing mix from Costco but it turned out a bit dry the last time I made it…even though I followed directions carefully.
Do you guys make it differently? Do you dress it up or add to the pre-mixed ones?

Re: Stuffing
I usually do something with chicken livers...mushrooms and sausages.Lightly sautee some diced onion until soft, then add chopped mushrooms and any herbs.
Let this mixture cool then add the sausage meat and or livers with some breadcrumbs (or the ready mix ) and then use to stuff and the make forcemeat balls of the remainder. The raw mixture does not look particularly appetising, but it tastes nice.
If using the ready mix...you don't need any extra herbs methinks as that should have sage and what not already.
Re: Stuffing
We use stouffers stuffing mix (but it makes no difference)....so cook it as directed.
On the side, saute one onion until slightly softened and than put in chopped apples(2).
Than we put in crushed red pepper, black pepper, sage, and salt to taste.
Mix the onion/apple mixture with the already cooked stuffing and done!
*the oil from the saute mix should keep the stuffing from getting dry.
Re: Stuffing
We add minced meat to the sage and onion packet mix.
