Study in Pakistan

Shouldn’t the overseas Pakistani’s be setting up institutions or donating to institutions in Pakistan to help RESIDENT Pakistani’s get this education, rather than bring in richer overseas Pakistani’s to study cheaper in Pakistan.

I do not see how this helps Pakistan, as the overseas Pakistani’s will study in Pakistan and go back abroad, having secured a cheaper education that what is available in their country of residence and a resident Pakistani is deprived of an admission in the local college.

There certainly are quality educational institutions in countries where overseas Pakistani’s are resident, where the overseas Pakistani’s can study, rather than hogging a seat in a Pakistani college which could have gone to a local.

I’m sorry, I don’t get this

Re: Study in Pakistan

^ Many colleges/universities have started 'self-financed' seats in addition to existing or replaced some 'free' seats with these to improve institution's financial condition. This way a student pays $2000 per year compared to may Rs 2000 per year (or Rs ZERO) and this money goes to institution's finances. The student doesn't have to stay in Pakistan to serve, even though local students get education and then go abroad to get jobs as there are none in Pakistan and unfortunately conditions aren't in favor of creating jobs.

Re: Study in Pakistan

it's a business...they are there to milk the overseas fat cows. getting back to their countries in the west is NOT that easy. it's a time consuming process to be able to practice medicine or dentistry. :)
