First off, it is not extraordinary for journal publications to lag significantly behind data collection. as a researcher, i know that fact for journal publications, especially in good journals (and thisseems like a pretty good journal). the journal paper was published in 2008, and represents the most recent scientific standard research about the area. secondly, given the paucity of data collection in the area, it is unlikely that you will find a more recent comparable quality research to support an argument for or against your point.
