Students die in India bus crash

**Twenty-six students have died after a bus they were on plunged into a river in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan, police say.**Some 34 were injured when the bus, returning to Sawai Madhopur district from the holy city of Vrindavan, fell into the Morel river.

The dead included 11 girl students of a local college.

Road accidents claim hundreds of lives every year in India. Most are blamed on reckless driving and ageing vehicles.

The police said the bus smashed through a barrier as it was crossing a bridge and dived into the river.
