You can say that it is their choice. But then does the same freedom exist for non-muslims in the so called Islamic countries.

North American and EU/UK citizens are housed in special fortified compounds in Saudi Arabia and are usually surrounded by barricades and TANKS, 24/7. They are allowed the same religious freedom within their compounds (which is a far stretch from the norms in Saudi Arabia). They even have special more expensive private schools for their children.

Can India the same? I didn’t think so. On the contrary they are too busy brushing the problem under the rug.

Skhan Please think before you make a statement. I am not talking about specified boundaried and compounds. Do you mean you would feel comfortable sitting barricaded 24 hours with enough religious freedom to do whatever you want. If the same thing was happening in the western world wouldnt you scream from the top of your voice regarding the discrimination.

Have you ever been to India. I am an Indian Catholic and am proud to be an Indian. There are hundreds of places where people can worship freely. True there is a little (very very very) discrimination. But that has not reached the monumental proportions that you make it out to be. There are aberrations. But a majority of us tend to ignore this and try to get on with life.
We are not talking about India not being minority friendly here.

Excuse me, but Muslims in India are a minority and since you were questioning what Islamic countries do for non Muslims then yes this is an issue of minority treatment! Try asking the victims of some of the families in Gujarat or Ahmedabad about this very very very very little discrimination. I am sure they would much rather live in fortified compunds then have their families killed, homes ransacked and burned!
