There is a difference between criticizing a country and criticizing a religion. Your example of 'students who study in Madina Shareef should also be able to criticize Islamic Shariah' doesn't really fit in this discussion.

Being an American Muslim Republican has go to be one of the hardest jobs in the world since Muslims fit into the group (ie anyone who isn't WASP) that the other Republicans can't stand. They dislike Muslims as much as they do the ACLU.

Madhanee in Muslim countries, taking Pak for example, no one is allowed to protest against the govt whether they r of any political party or belief but still pvtly they r always protesting.
we used to have hindu neighborz who were very nice ppl and excellent neighbors but but they always used to be complaining against pak and the irony is that the uncle was in a high paying provincial govt job!!! so minorities also sometimes complain unjustifiably.
look at Ahmadis, most Ahmadis i know in pak r hecka rich n well settled but they still complain?? akhir kyun!!!

Yeah, why is unjustified for a non-national with a high paying job in Pakistan to complain but perfectly justifed for a non-national attending a US university to complain about the US to the point of advocating a victory by the Christian country of China in a future conflict with the US?

Seminole its coz how could he claim Hindus dont get rights in pak when he himself was in a govt job which many pakis would gve a lot to be doing.
to this day, if anyone asks me what is the position of Muslims in America,i always say the plus and negative both, i mention that non-Muslim students on my campus were willing to act as escorts to Muslims post 9/11 but there was discrimination at airports for example.
i never experienced much discrimination but there are certain Muslims who were discriminated against. i never said that ALL Muslims in usa are discriminated against.
however they had hardly anything positive to say abt pak and they only glorified india :p

no not at all :p i consider non-Muslims to be equal citizens of our country. our janitor is a Christian family and they never criticise pak for the sake of criticism only but these Hindu neighbors of ours did.

Such a nice statement, Just because the person had a government job does not mean that he is not being discriminated against. You have not mentioned if he is under-employed (to make things simple a graduate doing a matriculates job). If you compare the situation you have muslims who have well paying jobs in the govt as well as the private sector and then go ahead and claim that "Indians are the embodiment of all evils"

It is nice to make statements that muslims are being discriminated against. You will have to understand why. They dont assimilate into the society as other communities.
You can say that it is their choice. But then does the same freedom exist for non-muslims in the so called Islamic countries.
