the girl was rescued a short distance away and she wasn’t hurt.

McGill is in Montreal...there was a burst water main up the road somewhere.
Re: Student swept away by flooding at McGill University
^ahhh...ok...I knew it had to be Canada somewhere... I thought Toronto coz I know it rained like crazy over there recently..
Re: Student swept away by flooding at McGill University
yeah, rain and melting snow causes havoc if there is a blockage due to snow/ice in the flowing water's path.
Re: Student swept away by flooding at McGill University
^the part I found funny was how the girl sat like a lady and glided down as if she did not have a care in the world while getting swept off ![]()
Re: Student swept away by flooding at McGill University
yeah … hahaha … it looks like she was sliding on snow…or tobogganing.
magical carpet slide! hehe
Re: Student swept away by flooding at McGill University
I saw the video yesterday. Good to hear she wasn't hurt. I work about 2km from there, but didn't know anything about it until I got home.

It was on both CJAD and CBC news here.
I didn't really see any flooding from where I was. I guess I was too far south and west from where it occurred. I heard they closed some subway stations and disrupted the bus service too. I take the train on the way back, so I didn't notice anything.
Re: Student swept away by flooding at McGill University
ahaaN…i see…i used to take subway in Toronto long time ago and after my visit to theUniversal Studios in Loas Angeles, i got really apprehensive about water gushing in from all directions into the subway system after an earthquake/flooding. subway is indeed a scarey place to be in the event of a flooding.
