I have had it just once … but have heard tonns about it … what makes it so special? the taste? the portion? the price?
Is it not made the same way as the regular biryani?

I don't find any thing great in it. It's just a regular masalay walay chawal. My mom cooks much better biryani than student biryani.

Best part is you always find it fresh .. almost all the times when you order it, it was prepared within last 30 mins. No one else can guarantee you that.

I have no idea about the present 'Student Biryani', but had visited it so many times during the phase I was in Pakistan ... simply missed it !

I think it's the taste & the aroma.
Although, the quality is not consistent as per my experience but even when it is good, one must have a heightened 'smell sense' to truly enjoy it. I am the only one in my family who thinks there is definitely something 'different' about student biryani's taste / aroma as compared with other biryanis. Because no one else (in my family) finds anything special about it. And I am known for my enhanced smelling sense.
I have tasted so many other good biryanis but the aroma of this biryani is so good that it makes you wanna eat it. And I think the best cooked food is when it makes you feel like eating only by its' aroma.

I think the proper use of Mace and Nutmeg and other garam masalas makes it different as well use of yougurt.
If you can make a good powder of mace, nutmeg, cumin and green cardemom, your biryani will also smell like SB.
Only Laziza biryani mix come close to SB if you want to use a recipe masala. Plus the use of easycook basmati rice!
