Hi everyone,

I will be going to York Uni, Toronto in sep 2011. Does anyone know where I can get a cheap place to live which should e close to uni? What are the closest places to york?

Is living expensive there?

There's lots of housing available @ York. There are homes which have been converted to smaller rooms inside and you can prob rent them for around $600. I'll PM over the contact information of someone who rents out rooms in that area...

thanks got the info. I am on a tight budget. I can pay up to 250-300 ( sharing) Any idea?

what are the places near by as in names. I might be able to search online for accomodations?

You'll have to share an apt with two people if you plan on bringing the cost down to $300/person.

York U is located @ Jane & Finch (bad bad area, imo); search for housing around jane & finch or keele & finch.

Hopefully someone who actually attends YorkU can chime-in...

If your moving from Pakistan you will find everything is quite expensive due to rate of exchange....but if you survive the first 6 months it will be downhill from there.....

ok i live at finch/islington which is about 3/4 intersections away from york uni. Accommodations shouldnt be an issue for you since there are many international students who come for study basis and mostly everyone finds some place to live. You wont be able to find a room for less than 400 a month even if u share with a family. I can look up for u and ask around for a room , but the least price I assume would be $300.
