jihad means to strive, to exact oneslef and not the meaning given by american terrorist govt that it teaches terrorism. some bunch of ignorants made mistake but it doesnt mean that the meaning of jihad should get the blame and that would never change whether americans say it or not. jihad expresses struggle against one’s evil inclinations or exertion for sake of islam and muslim ummah for example an armed struggle against unbelievers if islam is under threat. there are four obligations in fulfilling jihad : by heart, tongue, hands and sword. the first is concerned with defeating evil. jihad demands use of all our material and mental resources

thanks everyone phatima i posted here whats wrong in repeating the message again and again because people are still making mistakes and taking it the wrong way and we should keep telling them what is the correct thing about jihad

Those new words they make up dont wind me up.. in fact they make me laugh.. I can’t believe how stupid those people really are.. Most of them don’t even know what Jihad means.. and that does piss me off.. Why don’t they find out what something means before they go all balistic about it..?

yeah true that, i dunno how you guys can stand it! but also, i think theres less censorship here than in america whereby we also get the other side of the story whereas in america, i’ve heard that you’re just fed on what the govt wants to tell you - although you do have you other means of obtaining proper news (correct me if i’m wrong

Last year when we were havin a discussion abt jihad during the history class my teacher explained it as a ‘Holy War’. She explained it as that it is obligatory for Muslims to kill unbelievers.. As i said, that kinda s*** pisses me off.. So i was like.. Excuse me Miss.. if u want to teach us something here, make sure you get the right information. Sooo… i explained to her what Jihad exactly means.. and then she replied me wid.. Oh i never thought of Jihad in this kinda way..

jihad is regarded as farz-e-kifaya which is binding upon muslims as a group not individually and if we want to oppress and take down america all muslim nations will have to unite. jihad must be preceded by an invitation to islam.

Speaking of knowledge.. i dont know if the same is going on in the UK, i guess it is, but here in Holland after the London bombings colleges and universities are said to pay ‘close attention’ to Muslim students. ‘In case they want to use the knowledge in a bad way’.

Last week or so i was watching a discussion programm on television. They were talking abt the guy who killed the Dutch filmmaker T.van Gogh. So the presentator said, if he wanted to have education, why didnt he just go to Pakistan or Afghanistan were they teach you how to be a terrorist.. 
That really pissed me off..

i dunno about that but the govt has banned hizb-ut-tahrir and al-mahjiroon groups, which i personally don’t think is too bad. the reason i say that is that a lot of uk muslims don’t feel represented by them, myself included bcse their views do seem somewhat extreme and with personal encounters i’ve had with hizb-ut-tahrir’s their approach is quite aggressive

Yes, i do agree that there are groups who are too extreme should be exluded from education. But to pay close attention to ALL muslim students is too much in my opinion. It’s not preventing anything, it’s simply discrimination.
