shubah mudgal - ab ke saawan (pop cum classical, excellent lyrics and catchy tunes, not all songs are grest but some are very good) makes an excellent gift to a western friend.

'dere dere' is also pretty good. interesting gujarati touch in lyrics. one can visualize dandia while this song goes on.
listen to Ali more Angna, Shubha Mugadev was awesome in that song, I iwsh I never missed her show in Huntiginton last year!

u mean 'sikho na...' anyways.. of the classical singers trying out other style (not devotional stuff or semiclassical ghazals but more) I would love to see Veena Sahasrbdhe and Kishori Amonkar trying something like this. They have different voices and it would be interesting.
