a person with strong character does not get influenced by others' opinions easily, that if he's an out of the box thinker in the first place otherwise he's just a fanatic.

I define it as someone who has an understanding of change. They have grown from their experiences, and have a good understanding of themselves and their environment.

a strong charater person is the one who NEVER deviates from societal and religious norms. he adheres to them like a leach. he/she will sacrifice her own family to uphold his morals and teachings. :)

first of all understanding of change is different then bringing any change and secondly, you didn't specify change has to be good or bad, cuz it could be bad as well.

you only specified them being the jack of their specific environment. what if they thrown into entirely different habitat?

why your definition requires sacrifice? to me its like he/she is on a losing side.
what ya say is there a difference between powerful character and a strong character? cuz to me your definition is more towards powerful character of a movie.

For me, its someone who has the strength to follow their belief (ethical/religious/cultural) but also has the agility to re-evaluate them when situations demand so.

well, its ur definition then...how u gonna have a strong character if u momentarily suspend it...that proves that u ain't sure about ur own convictions. if you rightfully believe in something u have to own it all the way and not adhere to it half heartedly.

^Diwana is right.
Someone with a strong character is a person who does not give into societal pressure, peer pressure etc if it goes against his/her core beliefs. As a result of which such a person usually doesn't have much to hide.
