Strippers in the west are highly paid and consider themselves 'Artistes'(sp). They do not offer themselves for sex, even touching them is not allowed. They are just to provide an exotic atmoshphere while people drink & spend money.
Prostitutes, on the other hand provide sex.
Escorts (both male & female) - provide male or female company, they may go out with you & talk with you.
The stunts they pull on those poles should be included in the olympics as a new sport!
