**KARACHI: At least four people were killed in incidents of gunfire in Karachi and several were wounded as a strike called by the Pakistan People’s Party was being observed across the Sindh province on Friday, DawnNews reported. **
At least 10 vehicles were also set ablaze by unknown assailants.
Friday’s strike was called to protest against the Supreme Court verdict annulling the appointment of Justice (Retd) Deedar Shah as NAB chairman.
Sindh MPAs from the PPP sported black armbands during Friday’s provincial assembly session. A resolution was also passed in the assembly against Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan’s petition that challenged Deedar Shah’s appointment. Furthermore, the PPP MPAs staged a sit-in in front of the Sindh High Court building.
Moreover, all educational institutions of Karachi remained closed after an announcement by the Sindh education ministry.
Tension gripped various parts of Karachi on Thursday night as armed men on motorbikes roamed the streets in different commercial areas, scattered incidents of arson were reported and gunfire claimed the life of a political worker and left several people injured.
ok…so supreme court gives a ruling about appointment which was not ‘legal’…and the Govt itself launches a strike against SC decision…furthermore 4 people are killed, many injured, arson, terror and misery for people…
So my Jiyaala brothers…please try to justify this and make us understand how it was such a noble deed on the part of the Govt/PPP…

U see, ZAB was hanged and then PPP has been kept out of power, later after BB twice in govt, she was killed in a terror strike ( which have killed thousands of Pakistanies so far), and now this SC is taking action against all the illegal steps we are taking to safe-guard our corruption and/or to loot more wealth, so it is PPP's democratic right to stage protest and kill people in due course...

Although that eligibility case has gone to trash-can after 17th amendment, but for your sake, please provide us with the latest update on it, i think day before yesterday, it was said by the Registrar of the SC that there is no case pending on the eligibility of the Shareefs.
Now please can you tell us what kind of govt would stage these kind of protests??? or you are going to hide behind some lame allegations again?

This is the problem with Pakistan. Anyone who gets any power sees fit to abuse it to any extent that they can get away with. Seems like the supreme court is running the show. They are always meddling in the affairs of the government.
I hate all the politicians and don't care for any party whatsoever. But let the poor b*ards work for 5 years and then maybe you can have a turn. They all claim to love democracy over military rule but act as sore losers every time a government is elected. Mr. ganja anc co. can't wait to get into office. The gevernment is doing a **ty job no doubt but still let it get through. We might see some semblance of democracy over many electoral cycles if governments are allowed to complete their term.

How many other countries' supreme courts do you hear about as often as ours. For some reason its front and center all the time. I thought the governement had the responsibility to appoint civil servents?

The only thing our Supreme Court has done so far is to take initiatives to enforce the rule of law. Not surprised, when you have a crook in power, who got a full pardon from another crook in return for his safe exit from the country. The supreme court is there to make sure a criminal does not become the president of the country. That's why they are in the news. The problem here isnt the SC, the problem is these jiyalas and their violent means of protest. The Govt can certainly fight the case, or appeal if they feel so strongly about it. The legislature must be respected!

True, on the same note, how many times the president and govts of other countries, select and appoint most corrupt persons on key positions???
How many govts have made money by looting pilgrims ( even jews don't do that)
How many govts by pass the procedure for appointments in the key positions
How many govts select most incompatible persons as head of most profitable institutes
How many govts in world can turn an entity having reserves of Rs 10 Billion + into a bankruptcy
How many govts have head who are direct result of NRO kind of settlement
How many countries we have where loans worth of Rs 250 Billion are written off because of political connections??
and there are many more how manys.... and to answer all these how manys, Supreme Court have to take action...

Goverment has a responsibility butt not of appointing matric pass and those people who already have crrouption cases on them and suddenly remove those people who were honestly investigation against corruption
