Mine has always been below 120/80. Always... without exception.
But today, the nurse checked and screamed out to the doctor, "120/80, doctor!" The doctor, jumped up from his seat and quickly walked up to me to see himself and complete the other check up. I did not ask him but I was wondering why it caused a slight panic to the nurse (the way she screamed) and to the doctor (the way he jumped up from his seat and walked up to where I was lying)?

TNWB - unless they were expecting a higher or lower value for some condition you may have, I don't see why they would be surprised with 120/80 which sits comfortably in a normal range.

being nurse assist what i have been tought that for people who are between 20-30 have a blood pressure of 120/80

any thing they see different , they have to make sure everything is alright. when i used to check patient any thing different from normal i have to inform the doctor.

Sehar, I only have flu... but a terrible one. Should one expect a lower bp than 120/80 when suffering from flu?
insan - if 120/80 is normal than what was different about it to cause (slight) panic.
