How do you decide when to be strict & when to be lenient with your child ? Or what to let go & what not to ?

It is a learning curve and varies as they grow. I think when they are babies, you try your best not to curb their spirit. Not say NO too much. Just stop them from hurting themselves and danger zones ie electrical sockets, fire etc
as they grow older you incorporate more and more. but sometimes you do make a mistake and take a stand on perhaps something that you shouldn’t have, for instance, sleeping in a cot at night when they aren’t ready. But in such cases if you have taken a stand, you need to follow through. Not show lack of commitment to a decision
