i keep hearing about bio oil too but have never tried it.
use cocoa butter and keep it moisturised and try not to scratch it but the truth is, they're genetic and there's really nothing to be done about them :/
i didn't get them until week 32 of pregnancy which was a total bummer because i thought i'd bypass them altogether, and now after baby, they're slightly red and still there and i honestly don't think they're going away. oh well.
I used cocoa butter as well and I did get a few but they weren't bad....more then anything it helped with the iching, which near the end of my pregnancy was awful.
I used cocoa butter at first but it really irritated my skin then I started using Burts Bees cocoa butter & macadamia nut for the rest of my pregnancy and it worked well, kept my skin moisturized and my stretch marks weren't so bad. You should try it, I bought it from Amazon.com because it wasn't available in any store I checked at!
I used cocoa butter and oil during pregnancy and still continue to use it...but my stomach is a war zone of marks :( its been three month but i dont think they are going away :( BUt my son was really huge at birth mA so he really stretched my belly.
When I was pregnant I used so many creams. My skin was sooo itchy! Oil or vaseline did not reduce the itchiness or stretch marks... basic body lotion helps with itchiness but not appearance of stretch marks. But now Alhamdulillah after weight loss the stretch marks are almost gone!!
^ great! another reason to loss weight...but i started to gain weight again because i m breastfeeding :(
Really... I heard that you are supposed to lose weight due to breastfeeding.
When you are pregnant, you gain weight to build strength for delivery etc. Afterwards, your body is supposed to use the stored fat for breast milk. I didn't lose any weight with breast feeding, but I'm happy to say I didn't gain any weight after I stopped breast feeding either.
The main thing is eating. You have to eat very limited healthy food after you give birth and keep on taking vitamins. Your should return to pre-pregnancy eating habits... small portions.
I used Palmer's cocoa butter lotion throughout pregnancy. I didnt develop stretch marks till 38 weeks and they werent so bad Alhamd but still came. I was so bummed, i thought i wont get any lol. This time none so far Alhamdulillah but i started using palmers cocoa butter in a tub (smells really nice) since my 6 month. Like SGC said, they are genetic and usually you cant really do anything about htem if you are prone to getting them. I have alot on my hips/back area though,
