how can things like stretch marks be prevented?? Does everyone get them? Do they stay forever once u have them???
Re: stretch marks, lines
What are these stretch marks?
Re: stretch marks, lines
It really depends on how "elastic" (stretchable) your skin is, this is an inherited thing. Many women swear by cocoa butter, rub it liberally on your tummy during pregnancy. You'll smell like a chocolate bar but what the heck. If you do happen do get stretch marks (most women do) then theres a new product called Mederma, its a scar reducer. Once you have stretch marks, they'll never go away, there is no "cure" for them but this Mederma can make them much less noticeable esp when you use it when the scars are new.
ps deep throat, when skin is stretched further than it can go, it starts to break down and long lines appear. Initially they are red and/or purple but as they heal they become white just like a scar.
Re: stretch marks, lines
Sigh
Pregnancy is a scary matter
*scared*
Re: stretch marks, lines
cocoa butter, shea butter creams, vitamin e creams, laser helps.
laser is the only proven method i think but not sure if it removes them completely.
Re: stretch marks, lines
Forget about the laser. Just do the coconut stuff regularly and you will never get them .
Re: stretch marks, lines
Fayax so when do you apply this stuff? right before you take a shower? :)
Re: stretch marks, lines
can any 1 provide a herbal method of getting rid of stretch marks !
thankx ![]()
Re: stretch marks, lines
Women do ....I have no need for it.
Re: stretch marks, lines
hey, sorry fayax thats a myth about cocoa butter. I smelled like a hershey's factory, applied the stuff faithfully every day but my tummy looks like a roadmap of a very busy city, lol! ack. not funny really. once you have 'em, they're yours to keep. of course theres always the "tummy tuck" which I play Lotto for....surgical removal of the stretched skin is the only known "cure".
Re: stretch marks, lines
but desi women dont get stretch marks...that is why we should all listen to "American Woman Stay away from me"
Re: stretch marks, lines
Well I was talking about stretch marks...it does help with those if you start applying it before you get pregnant. Or at the start. However if you start using is after the delivery then it is too late. You already have them then.
Coco butter things are for prevention and they dont work as a cure.
Re: stretch marks, lines
Even more scared
Im never getting pregnant......... NO WAY!!!
Re: stretch marks, lines
^ Nothing is more of a blessing than a child of your own that you love and spend time with.
Re: stretch marks, lines
hey kaleem, if stretch marks are the worst of what you could have in a wife then you'll be a happy hubby by marrying a stretchable desi!
fayax, sorry..this mama used cocoa butter every day from conception till well after delivery. Me skin just didnt wanna stretch even with the extra lube jobs.
and NWB, not to worry, you will learn to be proud of your "battle scars" and melt like butter when your hubby tells you how beautiful you are for giving birth to his children. And again, there's always lotto and the "tummy tuck".
Re: stretch marks, lines
But an adopted child will also be your own ![]()

Re: stretch marks, lines
I think a bit part of it is genetic. If you have youth on your side then your skin is also more supple and elastic. I used just regular body lotion with both of my pregnancies, not specifically stretch mark creams. So far, with two girls I have no stretchmarks. But I'm not getting any younger. Who knows, with the next one we'll see what happens.
Re: stretch marks, lines
For some reason I like the word supple and I dont know about elastic, its kind of ewwwww
Re: stretch marks, lines
wat if u already hav em frm before pregnancy? ![]()
