Stress Awareness Week-Your Anti-Stress

Frantic schedule; so much to do, not enough time. Bills due on the 1st. Have work this weekend too. Full-time school and i have exams, cannot take time off work. Friend getting married, must attend. Maybe i’ll take my books with me, and sneak in a chapter a day.

I’m studying, i cannot make it to work, but can’t say No to manager because he rarely calls me in.

All this…is a form of Stress.

We’ve all dealt with overwhelming stress at one time or another. Some of us deal with stressful situations everyday, and the one day we have no stress to deal with is a Holiday of the week or month.

Wonderful thing about stress is that we learn from it, and it disciplines us to better deal with similar or more dire situations in the future. Each of us develop a protective bubble around us to cope with stress. Some techniques work for some, but do not work for others. At the end of the day, the one that manages to crack a laugh or smile, is the winner.

What is your anti-stress? How did you develop it, and how well do you adapt to stressful situations?

Re: Stress Awareness Week-Your Anti-Stress

A cat-nap even for 5-10 minutes is what I do in stressful time. (just when one gets to the REM sleep stage). Then I am charged again to deal with ANYTHING positively. Otherwise everything looks unsolvable. Sometimes even resting in darker quiet room for few minutes is enough.

Writing down the list of ALL things to do first randomly then mark them with numbers based on priority. This way mind gets free of burden of constant or recurring thoughts. Just cross the line over what you have accomplished/completed over time. That's a great feeling.

How I learned it? By being in stressful and busy work schedule so many years and found this technique work the best for me.
