whoa…wait a second…I am not suggesting a party at my home…no…I am not ready to invite people inside in such large numbers until I know them. plus there’s no way we could accommodate seating etc…
so what I want to do is a block party…I’m even willing to go get permission from the city to block off a section of the court…won’t be hard considering how the streets are laid out.
maybe have some games and prizes for the kids…

You don’t have to invite everyone all at once you know ( depending on the size of the house and your comfort level). But yes, I have seen block parties. The sub division next to mine is pre dominantly desi and they do one every year. Sometimes they invite me too. The goras usually huddle in a corner as there are so few, lol! It’s a big commitment as it needs to be a pot luck usually. It does turn out to be fun.
