Do you eat street food? How often? Don’t you fall sick? Share your favorite street food.
Pakistani street food looks appetizing on YouTube but I haven’t tried it. I fell sick soon after reaching Pakistan ![]()
from what I remember many many years ago, street food in Pak is soooo yummy
In NYC all over there are gyro vendors which I'm sure count as street food. And I absolutely love it.
Many years back I used to eat in Pakistan as well but lately neither have I tried nor I think my stomach can afford lol
Hmmm, I don't really eat street food over here. But, when I visit Pak, my favorite street food is gol guppay. A visit is incomplete without them. And should I fall sick (which has happened in the past), I take those horse-sized pills, dust myself off, and do it all over again. I don't learn.
If it were the Middle East......street food of choice would be a shawarma. In fact, I firmly believe that the best shawarmas do not come from the more fancy-shmancy establishments. Rather the best shawarmas are likely to be found at the smaller, more humbler-looking, dhaaba type shops
Who can avoid Gol Gappay/Pani Puri & Barf Ka Gola?? ![]()
Usually I dont get sick, but once I was about to die.. not a long ago I was travelling to Northern Areas of Pakistan on my Jeep.. on my way I stopped by a Dhaaba.. and there I bought Nimko from a street hawker which was poisoned on a reason.. but thanks to ALLAH that my friends took me to hospital right away and doctor gave me a good treatment.. ![]()
They searched for the hawker but unable to find him..
street food would be equivalent to food trucks here. mostly haram stuff. already know my stomach will get upset eating that food. even food from restaurants gets my stomach upset. as for vomiting...hasn't happened yet. have not visited pakistan, cannot comment on effects of street food there.
Raja Mark didnt get sick. He ate all kinds of street food.

In karachi i've eaten from tariq road and burns road. Oh, i think Kharadar as well. A-mazing food.@Tahurra may relate to that.
Most of the time ppl get sick with street food coz of adaptability
What or who is a gyro vendor?
May be anti-diarrhoeals?
There are Gyro carts in every corner, every block of NYC . They are owned by different vendors, mostly arab and some afghanis. All halal.

Dahi bhalley, would they count?
Doner kebab is my typical quick grab.
In KHI, it's mostly whatever! In '15 I went all gung ho on all kinds of street food - in just first week of my arrival I had haleem, Hyderabadi rubrri, lussi from Burns Rd, tuli hui machli, gunnay ka russ, biryani, all of it from those roadside thelay walas - in addition to more typical restaurant outings. Result was that next week I came down so hard with extreme case of diarrhea, I was in the hospital getting IV drip about 5 hours before my flight back to NL. My BIL brought my stuff from home and drove me straight to airport from hospital.
Lussi from Burns Rd is always a must whenever I am in KHI.
There's a strange sense of satisfaction that you get out of those roadside cheap, nasty the most unhygienic food that can't get from even a 4 course lavish meal at an upscale place.
I was a big fan of street food even despite I got sick a few times after I ate it. I used to travel a lot for many years ago and wanted to try each type of authentic food in the country I was traveling to. I tried gyros, kebab, burgers, hotdogs, all sorts of pizza. By the way, I already mentioned that I don’t do that anymore because I bought a pizza oven. Now I know what ingredients were used. For example, here’s the page with the recipe for one of my favorites pizzas.
