Straying from the Right Path

i dont know whats wrong with me, first of all, i have been living in the U.S. for about 13 years now, i came here when i was about 4-5 years old, my mom always encouraged me to read Quran and Salah, i never listened, recently I have been thinking about death and whats going to happen afterwards, and I started rereading the Quran in arabic and in english to get the meaning, I began praying 5 times a day, and then all of a sudden i just strayed away and focused on meaningless things again and stopped praying, this is happened a few times, its not dat I dont believe or anything, I just need sum advice on how to get on to the right path and stay there. any advice would be helpful, and please no cheap shots.

Re: Straying from the Right Path

MashAllah, thats good to hear.

Only a concerned muslim would realize hez straying away.

Brother, I recommend that whenever you do things that are straying you away, always remember about *death, Allah watching, the evil around you, society around you. *

And when you realize all that, you will return to the state u were at :)
inshAllah!

And Always ask Allah swt to guide you.

You should listen to the scholars like Hamza Yusuf Hanson from i think California........

Re: Straying from the Right Path

I have noticed that when I am with people who pray five times a day(like some of my friends and my parents and brothers) I pray too. If its possible, try to be friends with people who are better muslims than you.

Alot of us might have experienced this and its good to share ideas to make us a better Muslim.

Re: Straying from the Right Path

check out the mosques in your area…grab a friend and start hanging out @ the mosque. the environment totally influences ur psychological attempts at ‘trying’ to be more faithful.
