Would biological aging among living organisms still exist if time had stopped.
in other words, will we still grow old if there was no “time”

Re: Strange question
One of the definitions of the arrow of time (time moving forward) deals with the principle of entropy (second law of thermodynamics). To me, aging is part of entropy.
Point is, how would we know that time stopped flowing? Only when we see a sign. That sign would be Zero entropy, means no aging.
Re: Strange question
TLK.....you have a very amazing talent to explain very complex things in an extremely simple format.
mA.
Re: Strange question
Its not the talent Muzna. I have a very low attention span so its hard for me to read or write more than few sentences. I force myself to pick least amount of words to speak what I want to say :D
Re: Strange question
we are made to age. ask the telomeres.
Re: Strange question
somebody pls explain this in layman’s term ![]()
Re: Strange question

No doubt that we are made to age but is time a factor?
Re: Strange question
Ufff..
Here you go. How do we measure the direction of time (or the fact that time is flowing forward and not backward) is by looking at the disorder that is emerging from an order. You drop a cup from table and it will shatter into pieces. That is the example of disorder emerging from order. This process could never reverse. Shatter pieces from the floor will never jump back on to the table and become a solid cup. This disorder from order (increase of entropy) points towards the direction of time (or that time is flowing forward).
Re: Strange question
radiometric dating says yes.

thermodynamics 101?

When you force yourself to do something you are actually doing it against your nature.
please rephrase or retract your words:).

I hope so :D

im always right. just nod.

Probably because you never had to take physics in 19th grade.

My nature is to speak too much, but for me to read my words again requires attention that I lack.

19th grade? ![]()
I didnt go past 16th
hehe, btw ya i never took sciene so yah.

Time is the fourth dimension, does it really move forward?
Re: Strange question
I wanted to say 10th grade ![]()
not in spatial sense. Time is 4th dimension more in mathematical sense.
