strange question 2 ask...

the message isn’t posting itself correctly,
shall type it out again.
sorry.

Hello everyone,
I had a strange thought today and didn't know who to ask so thought about asking the lovly ppl at GS!

I read somewhere tht Islam recommends that a husband wife should have intercourse at least 3-4 times a week. this is correct?

This leads to my main question, how would this be possible in the month of ramadan during the summer when we are fasting for 21 hours? as we arent allowed to have intercourse whilst fasting.

The remaining three hours surely will be spend opening fast, praying magrib, EATING, EATING and some more EATING, praying isha + taravee, eating for sehri and then fasting again!

I was just wondering... sorry for the strangness of this question!

Re: strange question 2 ask…

:rotfl: no! it’s not true.

Never heard of that! But if it is, certainly a good news for all the husbands who keep on convincing their wives for that… :k:

HAHAHA..sorry but it is too funny.

Never heard of that either and by the way why only 3 - 4/week?:)

There is something I read a while ago like

1- They should fulfill each others needs.

2- Not being able to fulfill the needs of the partner can be a ground for divorce/Khula.

3- They should not stay apart for a long time. (Anyone can correctme but Umer (RAA) made some rules for those men on battle far away to come home about every three months based upon a woman's inquiry and question)

I've never read about an particular frequency. But I've read about mutual fulfillment of needs. Perhaps, 3-4 times a week is the average frequency for most married couples. Who knows? But on the humorous side.....ur post has provided the hubbies with ammunition, LOOL!

No its not correct. There is no authentic text or any opinion from scholars that states how frequently they should do it, thats entirely up to personal decision. There are rulings that set a maximum, like a man should not be overseas from his wife for more than 4 months, except if she agrees

.

No not while fasting, but you can between sunset and dawn

Re: strange question 2 ask...

^ So its 4months...?

(BTW: Kissing is allowed during fasting)

Re: strange question 2 ask...

Do you want the religious ruling/reasoning on this?

Huh....never heard of that either!!

Four months meaning if a man stays away from his wife for more than that without her agreement then she has grounds for divorce. When Umar bin Khattab was khalifah, he heard a woman reciting some poetry about her husband being away for so long on jihad travel and her feeling physically in need of him in his long absence -and then he went to his daughter Hafsa and asked her how long can a woman be away from her husband and she told him 4 months and then he set a limit that no man should be stationed away from his wife for more than 4 months because it isnt fair to her

Yes kissing is allowed during fasting

Re: strange question 2 ask…

Here is the info about this issue

Fasting: What physical contact is permitted?

Re: strange question 2 ask…

Lol @ this thread :omg:

Good.

And yes, kissing is absolutely allowed during fasting and there are hadiths stating that the prophet (SAW) used to kiss ( arabic/urdu: Bousa) his wives during fasting.

I am being lazy to quote.:)

Re: strange question 2 ask...

I think kissing as in a kiss goodbye or hello... not a full fledged makeing out. if u have to ask WHY not the latter... ur too young to know :)

Re: strange question 2 ask...

^ LOL.

No detail as far as I remember was described in hadiths. But an affectionate touch seems to be OK during fasting and why not?

Re: strange question 2 ask…

No detail b/c it should be common sense. I mean. Yeah. Affectionate touch = :k:

Re: strange question 2 ask...

^Don't know why but common sense is not so common.
