A lawyer named Strange died and his friend asked the tombstone make to inscribe his name on his tombstone, “Here lies Strange, an honest man, and a lawyer.”
The inscriber insisted that such and inscription would be confusing for the passer-by. They would tend to think that three men were burried under the stone.
Instead he inscribed “Here lies a man who was both honest and a lawer.” So wherever someone passed by the tombstone he said “that’s Strange” ![]()
