i’ve been noticing for a few days that my scalp is very oily specially after washing twice with shampoo:confused:
yes! it gets extra oily when i wash my hair…what is that???
i’m so confused…
i thought if shampoo is not good but it is working well on my husband…he doesnt have that problem…
Did you try changing your shampoo - just to see if that is the cause? A better idea would be to consult a dermatologist though. Never heard of this before. Found this article on the internet and it might help. Greasy Hair After Washing
you may be drying your scalp out too much by shampooing so much......this causes the skin to compensate by producing additional oils to remain hydrated.
switching shampoos is a good idea too.....try something a little bit gentler and only shampoo once per 2 or 3 days rather than everyday.
Yes will visit a dermatologist soon....googled alot about it but even doctors were laughing at this situation n didnt know the reason.....many people said its because of stress....but i'm not in stress....and just a portion of my scalp n hair is greasy rest is totally fine perfectly moist n shiny.....I'm fedup of making ponytail everyday its so depressing sigh!
Akmoti, if you have recently changed shampoo then this shampoo may be irritating your skin. Just coz it suits husband's skin doesnt mean that it should suit your skin too , so this might very well be an allergic reaction.
If you havnt changed shampoo and its happening for the first time, did you guys start on this new bottle recently? sometimes a certain bottle of the same product can have expired stuff in it .. so just try opening a new bottle and wash your hair with that and see if problem still persists.
If doing both of the above hasnt helped then definitely go see a dermo to establish why your scalp is getting irritated like this ..
Your scalp has a number of sebaceous glands that produce Sebum (oily thing). Your diet, weather, chemicals in your shampoo/dyes, your own hormones, all contribute to the functioning of these oil producing glands.
If you think your hair also stinks, you might have a fungal infection. If you are experiencing hair fall, there might be a problem. If no, all is well and don't worry. Take a tissue paper and blot out the extra oil from the roots. You can also use a little talcum powder and apply it on your scalp during night so that the oil is absorbed and just clean it out with tissues in the morning. Your hair will surely get a little bounce without having to wash very often.
I tried switching shampoo but it didnt help....my hair is not stinky but looks ugly waxy greasy full of oil :( i'm covering head with dupatta all the time....will try powder though n also rinsing with applecidar vinegar ....got the tip from google ji....fingers crossed....i'm praying it should never happen to anyone in this world!!!!
akmoti, I seriously suggest you dont do the powder or the vinegar thing, this could irritate your skin even more. Just visit a dermo clinic asap and get this checked out ... take proper medication for it , if needed. Sometimes Totka's can make a matter worse
ok so my hair has become 70% better and what i have noticed is that i wasnt taking milk n fruits and e.v.olive was out of stock so i used vegetable oil for about two weeks for desi cuisine...ALSO was deep frying food almost everyday...so maybe this was the reason....
now its been a month that i'm cooking khana in olive oil,no deep fried food and taking fruits almost daily.....
hair isnt perfect but much better than before....atleast i'm not wearing dupatta on head now....
