You guys better pay some attention to the GSM frequencies. For instance the iPhone has only been released to work with the AT&T GSM frequency. When used with TMobile it doesn’t give you 3g speeds. The best you get is Edge, which is 2g. It works, but very slow.

Going with another carrier might be more economical, but all of your phone’s features might not work the way they were designed to work. Further tweaking might be required on your end. And lets not forget if you accidently update to latest firmware, sometimes you’ll be weeks/months without a jailbreak. You’ll have a fancy ipod that could’ve made calls, but can’t because it’s no longer jailbroken/unlocked.
