Manochi an Italian traveler who visited India during Shahjahan & Aurangzeb’s period writes in his travelogue about Indian women; " They only knew eating Paan & making and telling stories’.
Women of sub-continent are still quite capable of making and telling stories. Children in every period are fond of stories. In our childhood, our Dadi used to tell us stories about her childhood, stories about Prophets and saints, before we go to sleep.
i've two ladies [92 and 101 years old] in my extended family whose mental faculty works better than most young folks...they are masters of storytelling. my great grand aunt is 101 and she still does shairi...writes her own poetry in Urdu :) excellent, isn't it?
