haha a lot of the "digest" based dramas are like that.
Kuch Pyar ka pagalpan is a bit different. It's about a guy who moves to Amreeka hoping to get rich quick.
Dareecha is about a bunch of psychos living under one roof :D
yeah Daam was a bit different as it dealt with friends and not the typical saas-bahu stuff. Whereas Doraha did deal with the saas-bahu stuff but it was handled very well by Mehreen.
I agree though Nomi most of the stuff that's being churned out follows the same routine story unfortunately. If there are any different stories, either they don't see the light of day, don't have enough marketing dollars for promoting their product, or is ruined because of sloppy production and direction.
Agreed to Nomi & RB's reason for not making dramas on different story lines. Sarmad Khoosat is a talented director from the new lot. I don't think many people here even know some of his classic works i.e. Piya Naam ka Diya (written by: Bano Qudsia and dealing with the story of a singer and impact of high and low faces of her career on her life) and Kalmohi (Based on Tagor's novel), but his commercial works like Pani Jaisa Pyar ( atypical story of victimised woman) and now Humsafar are very well known due to so called commercialism and marketing.
